Vandag het ek weer die geleentheid gehad om tyd saam met my broer se 13 maande oue baba dogtertjie te spandeer. Sy bly tot Vrydag by haar ouma en oupa (haar ma se ouers), want my broer en sy vrou is vir so 'n paar dae met vakansie. Hul kom weer Vrydag terug en na kersfees vat hul haar saam as hul weer see toe gaan. Dit gaan dan haar eerste strand ervaring wees.
Haar ouma het my en my ma genooi om saam met hul tweetjies kwekery toe te gaan. Daar het ons roomyse geëet, na die tuine gekyk wat hul vir idees daar uitstal en so bietjie aan die klimrame en swaaie gevat. Baba kan nog nie loop nie en is maar skrikkerig om op 'n swaai of hout perdjie te sit. Sy wil graag net daaraan vat. Toe ek so van die een klimraam na die volgende met haar in my arms stap, toe word ek sommer weer van voor af broeis. Dit moet tog te lekker wees om jou eie kleintjie te hê. Maar ek besef die groot verantwoordelikheid wat daarmee gepaardgaan. Dit kan ook nie maklik wees om als alleen te moet hanteer nie. Ek kan maar net hoop dat ek in die nie so verre toekoms, 'n man sal ontmoet wat my met als sal help. Ek wil nie 'n man hê wat nog tradisioneel dink in die opsig wanneer dit by kinders grootmaak kom nie. Hy moenie dink dat dit die vrou se "werk" is om kinders groot te maak nie. Hy moet my WIL help in elke opsig wat hy kan. Ek wil nie in 'n tronk van 'n huwelik beland waar manlief agteroor sit met sy skoene op die koffietafel voor die T.V. en kyk hoe ek sy kinders vir hom grootmaak nie. Of wat verwag dat net hy mag werk en ek moet by die huis bly en kinders grootmaak... Dit sal ook nie werk nie. Gaan ek eendag 'n man kry wat aan my vereistes voldoen? Ek kan maar net hoop.
